Before you print

  • White full-sheet adhesive paper, US Letter. Not pre-cut labels.
  • Actual size, 100%, single sided. Turn off fit, shrink and borderless expansion, or the borders stop lining up.
  • Test on ordinary paper first, then let the ink dry before cutting or coloring.
  • Cut about 2mm outside the artwork. The white border is the paper itself, so a little white left behind disappears against the sheet.
  • An adult should cut. Some pieces have narrow gaps around props and limbs, and those are worth simplifying rather than following exactly.

Questions

What paper do I need?
White full-sheet adhesive paper in US Letter, 8.5 by 11 inches. Not pre-cut square labels and not half-sheet labels: the layout assumes one continuous sheet. Print at actual size, 100%, single sided, with fit, shrink and borderless expansion all turned off. Test on ordinary paper first.
There are no cutting lines. Is that a mistake?
No, it is deliberate. Each piece has a white silhouette border instead of a box or a gray line, so nothing shows once it is cut out. Cut around each character leaving about 2mm of white paper, keep the dots with their letters, and simplify the narrow gaps around props and limbs. This is a hand-cut pack, so an adult should do the cutting.
What is actually on the five sheets?
One sheet per cursive letter family, 150 pieces in total: 60 characters and 90 loose Schoolschrift letters. Every letter of the alphabet appears, in the same letterform the app teaches, with no arrows and no start dots on the sticker letters.
Do I need the app to use these?
No. They are free, they work on their own, and there is nothing to install. They do pair with the worksheets, which is the point: a sheet a child has filled in, with the family sticker on it, is the thing that ends up on the fridge.
