My Letter Family privacy policy

Last updated 25 September 2026

This policy covers the initial iOS release of My Letter Family and enquiries you send us about the app. My Letter Family helps children aged 5–10 practice block and cursive handwriting. My Letter Family has no accounts, advertising, purchases or subscriptions.

Who we are

STARK BlendEd BV, doing business as STARK BlendEd, is responsible for the information handling described here. Contact us at support@myletterfamily.com or write to STARK BlendEd BV, Leonard Springerlaan 35, 9727 KB Groningen, Netherlands.

A short explanation for children

You can practice writing without an account. Your learning progress stays on your device. There are no advertisements. If you have a question about your information, ask a parent or guardian to contact us.

Accounts and learning information

The app does not require sign-in or create user accounts. We do not store children’s names or learning progress on our servers. Learning progress is stored locally so the app can continue from the child’s previous activities. We cannot access or delete that local progress remotely.

Depending on your device settings, app data may be included in a device backup managed by you and your backup provider. This is separate from storage by STARK BlendEd. For removal instructions, see our data deletion policy.

Analytics and device access

We do not use in-app analytics to collect taps, clicks, lesson progression or where a child stops an activity. We do not send these learning events to any analytics service, our own or anyone else’s.

The app does not display advertisements or request access to the device’s location, camera or microphone. We do not use children’s learning information for advertising or sell that information.

Apple reporting

We use Apple’s App Store Connect reports to understand overall downloads, app usage and performance. Apple makes usage data available from users who have agreed to share it and applies reporting thresholds to protect privacy. These reports do not provide us with children’s names or saved learning progress, or custom lesson-step events. Apple handles its collection under its own privacy terms and device settings. See Apple’s privacy policy.

Information for parents

The Parents area provides privacy and deletion information and a support email link. External links and email actions are protected by a parental gate. Passing the gate is not consent to collect a child’s data.

Information you send us

If a parent or guardian emails us for support or to exercise privacy rights, we receive their email address, the contents of the message and any attachments they choose to send. Please do not send a child’s full name, photographs, writing samples or other personal information unless it is necessary to resolve the enquiry. We do not require children to contact us or provide this information to use the app.

We use correspondence to answer the enquiry, provide support and handle privacy requests. For ordinary adult support correspondence, our legal basis under the GDPR is our legitimate interest in providing support, balanced against the sender’s rights. Where processing is required to meet a legal obligation, such as responding to a statutory privacy request, we rely on that obligation.

Sharing and security

Access to support correspondence is limited to people who need it to handle the enquiry and the email or IT service providers needed to deliver that service. Those providers must protect the information and use it only as authorised for the service. We may also disclose information where required by law. We use appropriate safeguards to protect information we hold.

If personal information is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we apply the safeguards required by data protection law, such as an applicable adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards. You can contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your enquiry.

Retention and deletion

Local learning progress remains on your device until it is removed. Support correspondence is kept only for as long as necessary to resolve the enquiry and any related follow-up, or to meet an applicable legal obligation or address a legal claim. We then delete it or remove identifying information. If a record must be retained, we can explain the reason and applicable retention period. My Letter Family collects no in-app analytics, so there are no such records to retain.

Your rights and your child’s information

A parent or guardian may contact support@myletterfamily.com to ask about any personal information we hold concerning them or their child, request access, correction or deletion, or ask us to stop an applicable use. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, rights may also include restriction, objection and portability. We may ask for proportionate information to verify the request and locate the relevant records; no app username is needed.

Where we rely on consent, it can be withdrawn without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. We respond within the periods required by applicable law and explain any lawful limitation. You can complain to your local data protection authority, including the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

Policy changes and scope

If a future release changes how information is handled, we will update this policy and provide any required notice and obtain any required consent before the new collection begins. This policy does not provide advance consent for future analytics. Website newsletter signups and other website services are separate from the app and are not covered by the app’s local-data statements in this policy. Those are described in our website privacy notice.
